Hi Kathy I missed you.

Yes I heard about Ruby and again I was sorry she was a character.

However I hate to tell you this but I suspect if you think Angus is a Boxer quote;and as you'll know we lost Ruby the Boxer and gained Angus as a foster. then you have been "had" because he looks remarkably Stafford like to me

Dharma is looking good, and seems Angus is lively enough to keep her on her toes. And laid back enough to share the sofa.

Thank you all. It's about 5 months since we lost Ruby and I don't think I'll ever get over it, but we can remember her with a giggle and a smile now, which speaks volumes about how she was in life. Angus (yes he's a staffie BTW *lol*) is very much like her in temperament - he has a long way to go yet though as he has severe fear issues due to the way he was treated which unfortunately have rubbed off on his social skills with other dogs too (his fear of them hurting his bad leg). Some lovely person (a woman we feel from his behaviour) stamped on his leg repeatedly, a deliberate act according to the specialists that checked his x-rays. What kind of world is this? He has an old stitch-up scar on his back too, so God knows what that's from. Thing is, once he came here (as a "foster") we just couldn't let him go - he has severe arthritis in his front left leg and his leg will never be straight now, but he's meant to be here. I don't know how I know that, I just do. He's very attached to Baz (the OH) and the kids, and he's learned to trust me. He's mostly a very happy little soul, and has taught Dharma a few manners....and a few bad habits

Lorraine - can you believe Dharma's been here over a year now? She's 18 months old and still growing. So much for breed standards - she's about 28" tall and 40kg. Got a way to fill out yet, but we keep her lean for her joints' sakes.

Emma - bet you can't wait for your pup - good luck

Thank you all for your messages.

Dharma is 18 months old now. She has a bit more filling out to do but she is one of the taller Bullmastiffs, as opposed to those that are built like bigger staffies. I remember running into a couple with their dog in the park - they asked me what Dharma was and I said a Bullmastiff and they said she couldn't possibly be because their dog was and she was nothing like her. Their bullmastiff was one of the much shorter stockier type (just over knee height at the most). She was beautiful but there's a vast amount of difference between Bullmastiffs in some areas.
