Parker has a big lump on his front leg that has been there for years but not grown, and I discovered one on his side too recently but I don't want him pulled about at his age.

No, she did not act differently AT ALL with either lump. Neither of them bothered her.
The MCT appeared in Sept 2010. As it was tiny and seemed unattached etc, they said to leave it, monitor it and come back if it changes.
It did not change until the end of Jan this year when it started growing. Off to the vets we went for an aspiration of the lump and discovered it to be a Mast Cell Tumour. They said it had to come off and come off soon due to it beginning to grow. Had we not had it removed, it would've grown and spread.
That lump looked and felt as 'normal' as any other lump and can often be mistaken for fatty lumps.
It has made me vary wary of all lumps now, I have to say.
