Afternoon all,

I had a lovely walk with the boys this morning and braved the towpath. I'm glad I did because apart from one old man walking his sweet little westie (all dogs ignored each other) there was nobody else and no loose dogs charging around.

We then stopped off at my friends and all five dogs played in her garden for ages while we had a lovely catch up. Apart from doing one load of washing I had done NO housework at all

It has suddenly become very chilly and the rain is overdue by a few hours so I'll shortly be taking the boys out for a final shorter walk before we batten the hatches and light the woodburner.

Bev That's a relief to hear that Lyla is OK after her bee sting . My daft dog (Rucksack) actively hunts bumble bees and then chews them up So far he hasn't been stung but it terrifies me when I realise what he's doing.
Lore I hope you manage to get a better night sleep tonight ((hugs)).
Mandy Aw well done Rosie for being such a brave girl. ..... it makes you so proud of them doesn't it. I'm delighted to say that my two were also very brave yesterday at the vets These 'crossbreed' dogs are very cute but as anyone who knows anything about dogs know they are crossbreeds. A resident here has a Cavichon and when she told me I thought it was some breed I'd never heard of. She got it at 5 weeks old with parvo and she was really lucky it survived I have to say its grown into a cute looking little dog, but not socialised so dreadful with other dogs.... always one I try to avoid.
Lynne I had to read your post twice "The butcher bought my liver last night" I hope you enjoyed your walk with Taff.

Are you back training now having been unwell? Not long to go now is it until you have your exhausting but hopefully fun day
Helena Your morning walk sounded wonderful up top. As for the owner of the saluki You sound as though you have the bull by the horns and hopefully something can be done 'cos it really isn't funny having to run away from an approaching dog
June You too had a bad time and had to cut your walk short. It really isn't fair is it How are you ribs feeling?

The sky is getting very dark now so I'm off out. Will catch up again later.

Afternoon everyone.
Helena and June sorry your walks have been ruined again. It must be a flaming nightmare.
Lorraine congratulations on getting the essays finished, sorry you had another bad night.
I hope everyone else is ok and having a good day. I have had a nanny nap after doing the washing and getting Dillon's covers dry on the line only to know they are going to get muddy again soon as it has rained. My washing was out and in again very soon due to the rain so is now in the tumble dryer and of course the back garden is now looking like a mud bath.
Done the hoovering too and watched some catch up tv.
Now have the wood burner roaring and four in a bed on in few miunutes.

Just walked Amber again before it rains again. Miserable out there. I had a cheese and onion sandwich earlier but it hurt my gums to eat it. Shall be glad when the bruised feeling goes. June and Helena, you both have had trouble today walking the dogs. It's a nuisance. Hope everyone else is ok.

Malka, glad you managed to get the spines out of your carpet. No thanks to Pereg. Lol

Well what an afternoon! I got nothing like the amount I intended done. My friend Amanda had come up from England to sort out her Mum's house so she can rent it out and although I couldn't go to see them last night she dragged me out for lunch today! We went out for a quick lunch and it went on for 3 hours!

Was lovely to get out of the house for a bit and even better just seeing Amanda, I couldn't deal with all three of my friends at the same time I'm afraid. Socialising wasn't my thing last night.

Then I got home about an hour ago, got a phone call from Mum's mental health clinician type bod, she is having to go back into hospital because her delusions are getting worse. She isn't allowing her carers to do their jobs, she is barely taking her medication, she is only taking the anti-psychotics cause she has to and they are injections so she doesn't have a choice in them.

The big issue is Rosie, her German Shepherd. Much as Rosie is a lovely dog, she is also dog aggressive and we just don't have the room for her unfortunately so she has to go to the SSPCA. Mum can't manage her but doesn't want to give her up because she was Dad's dog. Mum hasn't been able to walk her for weeks because there's been cows in the field and Rosie is determined to go after them. I've suggested, reluctantly that she is rehomed. It's not fair on Rosie to leave her with Mum, who can't walk a young active dog. I know Mum will hate me for it more than likely but it's for her own good.

I feel awful, I just don't know what else to do. Can't see the family rallying round, they haven't been near either of us since Dad died so on my own for the moment.

Going to tackle the front garden in a moment. Need to drag the compost bin round the front so I can get rid of a load of stuff. See you later.

Lore, is there a German Shepherd Rescue you can get in touch with, she will have a far better chance with them than the SSPCA, probably get a foster home and some training.
If she is dog aggressive I think there is only one way the SSPCA will go.....and you don't want that.
I've googled it for you, please contact them first

Moyra - sorry to hear that your gums are still sore. (((hugs)))

Lorraine - I am glad you had a goot time with your friend Amanda, but so sorry to hear about your Mum. It sounds like she really does need to be in hospital and sad as it sounds, Rosie will have to be rehomed as it is not fair on her if your Mum cannot cope. I hope something good can be sorted for her and that a hospital stay will help your Mum. (((hugs))) for you too.

We all got soaked when we went out and I think we were all so pleased to get back in the warm. The fire is now lit and we are all snuggled up on the settee together ... bliss. I should be doing some housework but I'll tackle that tomorrow ... I hope I have sorted a meal for tonight when my OH gets back so it should be a nice relaxing evening.

Lynn Enjoy your evening and the clean covers while they last
Moyra Stick to luke warm soup or scrambled egg for a few days. I'm surprised your dentist left 'bits' in because they will always make their way out and cause problems as they do. I hope you have a restful evening and night.
..... you are one very brave lady
Lore More for you to sort out with your Mum and Rosie. Hopefully that link that June left for you will be able to help find her a home and everything crossed that the hospital stay will help your Mum. I'm so pleased you had a nice catch-up with a friend ... its always good to have a break from family members.

See you all later after I've cooked a meal as OH is now back.

In trying not to think about it I have cut down the tree in my front garden which has grown WAY bigger than I expected it to. Thought it was going to be this delicate little willow tree. Nope...great socking big thing. So down it came. Now I just have to get rid of the blooming stump. That's going to be interesting.

However, I have tidied the garden and it looks way way better than it did. Still can't mow the grass yet though, it's too wet. Going to set up the strimmer so I can at least do that.

Brown bin is filled, and dinner is now on as well. Turkey sausages, going to do mash and possibly sprouts, but not 100% sure on that one yet.
