very proud :-)

I'm soo soo proud of Paris

Rather embarrssed to admit it but the dogs have always really been my OH's. They tend not to listen to me very much I think they actually think i'm just another dog..

But i've been working hard with them and today i let paris off lead on my own!!!! And she came back!

It was such a good opportunity, the field was empty, she was sniffing something so i just unclipped her and walked off (with heart in mouth and just a smidgen of panic in my tummy!).. me and Phil carried on walking.. i gave her a normal voiced (trying not to sound worried) call and she came trotting up beside us! We walked the legnth of the field like this before i put her lead back on.

Small things i know but i'm just so happy we did this and she stayed with me.

We dont let Phil off lead even if both of us are there as often as we do Paris as he has very very selective hearing but we are working on him slowly, lots of treats and praise when he comes back.

sorry for rambling on i'm just sooo happy, cant wait to take them out again.

Congratulations, that is great, and its not a small thing, you managed to let a greyhound off, and they come back, it really is great, I love to see sighthounds run, and they live for it, so I'm sure that Paris is just as chuffed as you

That's a real achievement, no wonder you feel so proud! Well done you! Keep on working at it, you'll be surprised what you're capable of when you put your mind to it!

Thank you. She certainly loves to run, and loves being off lead. Phil on the other hand is'n half as bothered about running, couldnt care less about being on or off lead and if we let him off he just stands and sniffs in the same place or wanders off and doesnt respond to calls! I was really amazed at how close she stayed to me, closer than she does even to OH when we usually let her off.
