which camera?

ive been wanting to get a good camera for some time now so my parents just gave me money so i could get one in the sales.
im between 4 cameras right now, fuji S5600. panasonic DMCFZ7BB. fuji S6500FD and fuji S9500.

does anyone have/had any of these?? if so how good are they??
need to be able to take good action shots (i.e. of border collie running around and motorbikes moving, stuff like that)
but also good stills shots etc

this is the 4 im talking about on a comparision table at pc world...sorry if im not suppose to put links lk this... just doing so, so ppl(with more camera knowledge) can look and tell me which they think is best. thanks

I have the S5600, and love it dearly. It is automatic enough when i want or need to take a quick pic, and yet has full control over aperture and shutter priority for more controlled pictures. Indeed, the christmas pic of Willow in the competition was taken with it...

And the quality is good.

Dixons/PC World seem to still have them in stock as well.

Not tried te big brother 9600...too much money for me, and I realy don't need 12M pixel yet, the image size must be huge!

Other useful points, it runs on standard AA cells, so you can get replacements in a hurry if they go flat. It is very light, and very quick to start up, and the lens is a 10x optical zoom, and of very hugh quality.

Hope the above is of some use to you

Gaz

Snappy Christmas!

A friend of mine had a Panasonic DMC Z5 and its ace, the one you mention is a newer better version, has a super image stabilizer on it.

Hi I got the Fuji Fine Pix S9500 as a Christmas Pressie Bought at PC world for £279. £50 off but bought the bigger memory Card for it . The few times I have used it so far It seems to be good for no red eye and when they move quickly It is 9.0 Mega Pixels and 21.4X total Zoom.- 10.7 Optical amd 2.0 Digital. uses AA Batteries. I am not very technical with these things so can only say what results I have got and so far they are good. I prevously had and still have a Fuji FINE pIX 204 which is probably now obsolete but I loved that one which is why I went for another Fuji. Hope this helps.

For that price you'll get an entry level DSLR (Digital SLR) although the megapixel count may be lower than a none DSLR at the same price.

Remember the megapixel count is just how 'detailed' the camera can record the whatever 'quality' image it takes. With a higher quality sensor and optics the DSLR will be capturing 'better' images.

You also have the advantage of being able to use different lenses, filters etc
