We have a normal human first aid kit. We never bothered with one until we got the dog which just goes to show who gets priority in our house!!

We keep the usual bandages, antiseptic wipes, eye bandages, dressings in it plus it's got plasters and safety pins. Also has eye wash but not sure if this is ok to use on a dog!

I don't really have one these days,I don't need anything other than the most basic of things for emergencies because if there is a problem I head for the vets.

The main things I use are sea salt which I have in the house anyway, Atarax an animal antihistamine for allergies, tweezers, scissors, a couple of syringes (for getting fluids into a sick dog/flushing eyes etc) rice, fish in the freezer, probotics from the vet and a hot water bottle. If I need any sort of bandage to apply pressure I always have clean tea towels.

We got a dog first aid kit from Halfords about a year ago.... but we keep it in the car for accidents when we're out and about.

In the house, it's pretty much human stuff anyway. We also have kaolin (sp?) paste, syringes and vet-wrap bandage for the dogs.

I have human 1st aid kit, but like mentioned any emergency I'm off to the vets, what we need to watch out for is 1st aid kits can go out of date, something I didnt know until I recently went on a first aid course.
