I look at it this way, if you cannot take back any or all of the dogs you breed you should not breed QED.
I wish all breeders were like you, Joedee. What a lot of heartache would be spared if they all thought and acted like you.

Anyone who breeds one litter of only one puppy is still a breeder. Responsible breeders rarely find their dogs in rescue or being in urgent need of being removed from their owners, thei dogs are(especially in the case of GSDs)either tattooed or chipped(or both)& the tattoo register does notify breeders if their dogs end up in rescue like my lad did.

One off litters account for so many dogs that end up unwanted sadly. I took in two GSDs just before Xmas for GSD Rescue & transported them to a safe place. Their owner had allowed them to produce 3 back to back litters & was only parting with them because the council had served not one but 5 ASBOs for them barking all day.

They were lovely dogs temperament wise, but had had no health checks etc & the owner couldn't understand why he should never allowed them to breed in the first place.

They are rehomed safely thank goodness & will be neutered in due course.

I tattoo & chip for a fair few breeders & always have the breeders request that the notify breeder is added to the tattoo records. I also add breeders details to all the chips I register-the only problem with chips is that the new owners can remove the breeders details via Petlog online, they cannot do that with the tattoo register

Brilliant news - are the homechecks for anyone we might know?

Zelda looks so lovely, and I really hope one of the homes turns out to be THE one for her
