Has anyone got details for 'retirement homes' for dogs?

I need contact details for places that will take non-rehomable dogs. They must have a non-destruct policy.

I have a dog in mind that is not suitable for a family environment, but is good with other dogs.

Please post any places that you think could help.

Thanks.

I assume you have a people-aggressive dog? I know there is a small Rescue in North Essex that specialises in turning round aggressive dogs but they are very new and I can`t find their details - maybe someone else is less senile than me and knows them?

What about dogs trust - they don't put any animal down.

Good luck Chris

Hi Chris

Yes, Dogs Trust. They have a specific home for old dogs, I sponser them, they call it Oakfield Oldies. All the senior dogs live in a home environment, with sofas etc, as opposed to normal kennels. The Dogs Trust never destroy a healthy dog, no matter how old, which is one of the reasons I am such a fan of theirs.
Good luck, hope your oldie finds a comfy forever sofa very soon!
