John Paul Massey gran Helen Foulkes charged with 'keeping dangerous dog' after Wavertree mauling
THE gran of a four-year-old boy mauled to death by his uncle's pitbull dog has been charged by police.
Helen Foulkes, 63, will appear at court next week in connection with the death of John Paul Massey at her house in Ash Grove, Wavertree, last December.
Detectives said Mrs Foulkes will be summonsed to answer charges of 'keeping a dangerous dog'. Christian Foulkes will be sentenced later at Liverpool Magistrates Court today for owning and breeding two banned pitbulls, one of them Uno who savaged little John Paul.
On the night of he tragedy, Mrs Foulkes fought desperately to save her grandson sustaining injuries herself, but the toddler suffered head and neck wounds and died in a downstairs back room.

Liverpool dog death uncle faces sentence
A MAN who kept an illegal dangerous dog which killed his four-year-old nephew is due to be sentenced.
John-Paul Massey suffered multiple injuries when he was savaged by the family pet at his grandmother’s home in Wavertree last November.
Christian Foulkes, 21, pleaded guilty last month to two counts of possession of a dangerous dog and one count of breeding a dangerous dog.
