Guess who escaped from her crate...

Hi all

Well Bella have beeing doing really good in her crate.. Kamille have had Bella in the crate for 1 hour in the last 3 days.. Today she went to the basement, so thought she would let Bella be in the crate.. We are talking 30 minutes here...

When she came up, there was Bella greeting her at the door.. Somehow she had chewed the plastic tray in the bottom (there are bars in the bottom aswell) and squeezed herself out between the "crack" between gate and crate...

Uhm, any ideas, wot to do now???

This is a pic of the crate:

Kamille has put some fabric around, so Bella can only look out the front, where the gate is..

Can you get a metal tray for it?

Maybe a piece of flexible wire to wrap around the area she squeezed out of, that can be taken off when you need to take it off?

Hasn't she been a busy girl

She's going to rename her Houdini

No seriously....

Well I'll suggest a metal plate and a wire of some sort..

THe "fun" part is, that when she's been in there, and Kamille's been home in the kitchen (the crate is in the livingroom) there's been nothing.. She's just been in there without a peep

I'd agree with getting a crate with a metal bottom. Kamille also needs to realise that Bella has to be trained to the crate (sorry if that's what she's been doing) not just shoving her in for an hour and expecting her to like it

You know I'm an advocate of crates, J - let me know if I can help at all.

She is training her

She's been letting her stay in there, for a bit, fed her in there with gate open.. Its just that the last 3 days, Bella has been in the crate 1 hour without any problems at all...

I mean she's gotten to 1 hour....

But today was the first time Kamille actually left the appartment.. And for 30 minutes...

We would appreciate all the help you can give, Becs

Yes Caz, we dont understand it either....

Hiya -My Murphy used to be able to get out of crates we re-enforced it with garden ties ( the plastic things that you tie plants to fences with ) that way they can't find the gaps to push against -but make sure you cut the ends off short so they can't chew them
hth
