There are some clubs that meet weekly for training, the value of those rests on the calibre of the members.

It is fairly easy to locate 1:1 trainers if you are happy to travel and pay.

Can a KC GCDS Examiner examine outside a kc registered club/listed status organisation?

The reason I ask is that I am a KC GCDS Examiner approved to Gold LEvel. Page 3 of the Guidelines state:

Organising a GCDS course AND subsequent testing session can ONLY be carried out by a KC registered club or KC approved listed status organisation.

Oh interesting! I'll have to look into that.... although the person I have in mind does also run classes to all levels (I just can't get to them though).

Edit: looked on the website and it says: "Good Citizen Dog Scheme teaching and testing. All levels up to gold for individuals and for dog clubs."

So basically what you are saying is that you are going to be examined by someone from a KC registered club on their behalf and they will do the paperwork.

A bit different from someone doing it individually.

That was why I queried your statement!

The same KC reg trainer/examiner cannot train and then examine the people he has trained, or can he/she?

You're right, they can't - as far as I know. Where I used to live there were two training schools both run by examiners, who used to use each other for testing - i.e. Group A trained by Trainer A would be tested by Trainer B, who trained Group B, and vice versa.

If this was in reference to the examiner I'll be using, I won't be training with her at all, just 'hire' her to come and do the test when I feel my dog is ready.
