Shaking head when excited

Hi Everybody
Some dogs snort/sneeze when they get excited, my Yogi flaps her ears by shaking her head a few times much like she was drying her coat.
This I've noticed these past few months, her ears don't seen to have any wax worth worrying about, and it only seems to happen when shes excited.
Is this unusual?

If it is only when she is excited then I don't think there is anything to worry about. If it is all the time then maybe she should be checked by the Vet.
Mo does it everytime she stands up after being asleep.

Love Yogi, she is beautiful

When mine do this they usually have a toy in their mouth and are excitedly doing the `break the rats` neck` headshake!

Hi George you say...
Yogi flaps her ears by shaking her head a few times much like she was drying her coat and it only seems to happen when shes excited.
this can be something called 'shaking off 'rather like shaking off water. It has been noted that dogs do this when excited, it is a 'calming signal' .

Its called a Shake off, it is a way of relieving stress.....people do it as well in nervous or tense situations. (That feeling of someone walking over your grave!)

ETA - Sorry Mini - didn't see your post.
