Injured Budgie

Our elderly budgie flew down tonite and Bella my grey has had a nip at him , he flew back to his cage but has blood stains on his front. He is just sitting there now on top of his cage , not sure there is a lot we can do . We dont want to go too near him and spook him so he flys off again , maybe just have to see how he goes unless anyone has any advice ?

Well Tweety Pie has made it through the night and is managing to eat and drink , his leg looks a bit dodgy tho , so off to vet with the budgie later .

Im glad he made it through the night- budgies have such a small amount of blood that losing even a drop or two can be life threatening.

He is still with us no more bleeding and managing to eat and drink , he is not so lively but he always chirps at the Eastenders music and is still doing that so must be feeling ok

How did you get on at the vets?

He has some antibiotics and needs to go back for a visit on Tues , that was about all they could do , not sure they really knew what to do with him TBH ! But he seems fine , eating , drinking and not distressed so lets see

That can only be a positive thing
