So sorry Claire, she put up a good fight didn't she, you gave her the strength she needed at the time she needed it, and above all, she was surrounded by those she loved most when her time finally came.

Yes, I believe that too, they can choose their time in those last 24 hours. She has now been taken from your loving care, she's gone to a much better place and I know you believe that too, so think of her happy now, and give yourself time to grieve along with your dear mum and dad and everyone else. I hope your mum and dad are as strong a person as you are, because she has lost the very dearest person to her there could ever have lived in the whole world, but she still has you, and I know you will take good care of her now. My heart goes out to you as it has done for the past few months Claire, and we'll have to meet up one day soon and give each other a huge comforting hug, coz I think both you and me need it, you more than me, coz I still have the one I love, but so do you, just that you can't see her now.xxxxx

When my mum died ,my daughter and I had been sitting by her bedside for hours-the doctor asked us to come into his office "for a word" and a minute later the nurse called us back as my mum had died
It must be a comfort to you that Sarah died with those she loved with her

Thank you all for your lovely comments. Life feels very surreal at the moment. It really hasn't sunk in that I will never see her again. Her funeral is next Friday so I guess that will bring more reality to this horrible situation.
