OTHER doggy smells

thought id make this a new topic as it gave me an idea.
Im not so much worried about the normal doggy smells. however, when indie was younger, she has wee'd on the floor alot. Now, i have tried all of the 'dog related' soap products to get rid of the smell, ive tried shake n vac and all sorts. Ive even sponged down the whole carpet with hot soapy water, but the smell just keeps coming back!!
Can anyone recommend a product to get rid of urine smells???? Its really bad up here!
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Indie doesnt wee inside anymore, *touch wood*.

I haven't actually tried this, but I was once told that non-bio washing powder is excellent for removing the smell of doggie wee.

U might find it's not in ur carpets but the smell could be comming from the floorboards where it's soaked in. Have u tried vinegar?

I use it diluted. Just dap it on with a cloth first to make sure it doesn't react with the carpet. It does leave a vinegary smell around for a while so be warned

Staffy has a good point. Could well be the floorboards. I read an article on vinigar and it has so many uses. I would dilute though on carpet. Use undiluted on the floorboards.

My elderly cat Eartha who died a few months back had in her old age a spot where she would wee in the sitting room. I spent ages and ages cleaning the carpet and it always came back. I ended up lifting the carpet and sure enough the concrete underneath was not drying out. For that I used Jayes Fluid.

I now have a carpet that has shrunk about an inch from the skirting board. Pete said you shrink carpets just like you shrink the woolens when you wash them.

If you try the vinigar let us know how you got on.

Jenny I would dilute the vinigar for the carpet. I would be tempted to use it neat on floorboards/concrete. Put something between the Carpet and the floor and let it air out till thoroughly dry.

Hope it works

I use vinegar and biological soap powder to get rid of the smells.
