Google Chrome help

I tend to use Google chrome as my main browser - but it seems to have some issues with some of the things I would like it to do.

After months of being fine it is not allowing me through certain shortcuts - (mainly thinking about FB).

However - it will also not upload pictures or the like as it says I do not have the required plug in.....is this something I can install or do I have the setting wrong or am i fighting a loosing battle??
