No we didn't go to the vet as the vet told us over the phone just to wait it out and make sure his breathing was okay - and it was, and the swelling was gone the next day so alls well that ends well.

I inherited my dear old cocker spaniel at the age of 6 and inherited so many pre-existing conditions with him that he was well nigh uninsurable! So for the four years I had him before he died the vet's bills were fairly high.

When I got Nips I insured him with M & S as soon as possible and we got our policy documents through recently and the cover seems excellent for the price. To be honest, I wouldn't risk the chances of having an uninsured pup since they are amazingly accident prone!

More expensive but I believe in life you get what you pay for.
Do you not think £7,000 is adequate in the majority of circumstances? I can't think of many where it wouldn't be, M&S is perfect for me. PetPlan is just way too expensive for my liking!

Each to their own I guess!

I think £7000 is an edequate amount!
Teagans recent claims were quite a lot as I insisted she saw a specialist, and at £90 a consultation, it doesn't come cheap!
The whole thing has come to approx £3000, and the next 'year' starts in June, so I've still got a while left!

In 9 years of dog ownership, apart from this, the most i've paid out is a couple of hundred....I don't think massive bills are a frequently occuring thing for 1 person.
