Try walking out with OH, stopping at the roadside then looking each way before commanding him "over". He was not impressed. The kids on the other hand are used to it.

I have been known to let out a "Good girl!" when receiving homework
I did once shout for one girl to "No! walk by! Close!" when on a field trip. She looked like she was going to walk into the road. It was an automatic reaction Certainly stopped her in her tracks... I suppose I should be glad my crazy tired brain didn't turn to my other phrase in that situation or I would have had the whole class "DOWN!"

I teach teenagers now.. safer

A woman I dogwalk with when her daughter came running up and said she had done something good the woman, a little distracted said 'good girl' and patted her on the head

and I know there is a woman who is clicker training her baby!! (and it is working!!)

I had an incident with my first grandson... He was only about a year old at the time... He and Zenta were both standing facing me, and I told Zenta to Sit... They both sat immediately!

I still find it very difficult not to tell someone to 'sit' when I get to a pedestrian crossing, and wait untill they respond before pushing the button
