PROUD OF MY DAUGHTER

Today my 13 year old daughter took one of our dogs to the local park for a nice walk. After being there for 1/2 hour, she saw a man with a lab who's dog in her words 'did a number 2' the chap walked away! Well our children have always been taught to pick up after the dogs, so she chased the man and told him to pick it up he was quite taken aback and said he didn't have any bags with him, so she put her hand into her pocket and gave him a nappy bag Don't think he was too impressed, but he picked it up and put it in the bin, then walked away muttering to himself! She didn't realise she was being watched by the ice-cream man, who called her over and gave her a cornet free of charge, telling her what a decent young lady she was!

I am so proud of her, shame a girl of 13 had to teach a man in his mid 20's how to do the right thing hey

Good for her, there's not many youngsters around that would do that

Not picking up is my Victor Meldrew mission of the week at the moment, costing me a fortune in poo bags though.

There's a certain parish councillor here who veto'd extra dog bins around the village , and they allow thier dog to foul the village green, as it walks from their home to their business un-escorted, two offences in one there, soon as I manage to get a clear photo of the dog in the act, then the dog warden will issue a fixed penalty ticket, and do you think I can get a decent photo. :smt091

Can she come and speak to my neighbor? Lol That annoys me when people just leave it. Where I lived last, my neighbors had horses, and they would walk down the street with them to the horse park, and leave the piles in the road! That used to REALLY annoy me.

Wow I can understand you are proud!

I live right up to a big green area, where we walk our dogs (and children can run and play soccer) and there are still a lot of people not picking up after their dogs. Its really annoying considering that I ALWAYS picks up after Luna and Bella even if they might have a runny tummy. And if its dark and I'm walking the "night walk" I'm having a flashlight with me, in the beginning to see where I was to pick up, but as she now only do this in the morning and afternoon, the flashlight is used to prevent me g in others dogs "cakes". Disgusting!

I have been thinking of saying something, but some of the types out here, you dont want to mess with so I keep my mouth shut. Write it down, and report them anonymously!

We lost a large enclosed soccer field because people did not clean up after their dogs. How much effort does it take to pick it up, not much.

Exactly. And if you do it from the beginning when they are little puppies you will have gotten "used" to the smell and form (yuk) by the time they are grown up. At least I have!

Good for your daughter :smt023 for saying something.

It does not bother me picking it up, but what does is the fact that you can carry it for 10 minutes or more before you find in bin to put it in. We are trying to get more bins around the streets but no luck yet.
