Dry winter coats - anyone elses dogs got them? any tips to share?

Have just spent 2 hrs grooming the girls ..even Inca junior loved being on the table ...have any of you noticed coat dryness ? due to having the heating on

mine are all given oils in their food but i have just sprayed them all in a little mink oil cos their coats seem so dry and flyaway

Yes Inca, I've noticed Danny's coat seems quite dry. Definately the effects of central heating.

I ran out of doggy stuff so I tried a tiny bit of Aveda stuff on his coat (all natural ingredients, no chemicals) and he's sinfully soft now Smells gorgeous too

Archie's skin gets very dry and flaky with the central heating. I just upped his dose of evening primrose oil and salmon oil a bit and he is fine now.

Maybe try a conditioner, or shampoo with conditioner? Greenfields is good.

Inca:

You said you put oil in their food... do you put flaxseed oil in? That's great
for a dry coat. Also, Vitamin E and Omega 3 and Omega 6.

Good luck!

Hi Inca,
I'm new here but noticed this as my PON Esau has a fly-away coat atm. Have you tried "The Stuff" conditioning spray? you can get it from www.petcetera.co.uk. Spray it onto a wet coat and groom through - not only does it condition the coat and get rid of static, but it makes mud/dirt easier to rinse off and helps stop mats and knots forming. It's made life so much easier with Esau.
