Good luck at the vets today. Just to maybe put your mind at rest somewhat, this is what Cassie had many years ago on her shoulder, it swelled up one afternoon out of nowhere and like you say, the size of a football almost!!! I rushed her to the vet, he knocked her out and drained it and said he didn't find anything nasty in there whatsoever, but since that they she always had it left as scar tissue and a hard lump, but small and flat if you know what I mean? The vet said he would never know what it was either, could have been a sting, a bite, a knock, or a cyst suddenly erupted. I hope your Jaz will be ok and can perhaps do the same? Good luck anyway.
