I agree with Tangutica - I would go back to the area where it happened and see if you can find what he injured himself on.
Well, that was my first thought but I've had a rethink since then!

If he was chasing rabbits it might be nigh on impossible to pinpoint where it happened.

The min pin menace chases lizards (she will never catch one) and they zig zag and dart about all over - I'd have a job to find where she might have hurt herself if something happened while she was making herself giddy chasing lizards.

Main thought I have now is - if you can't discover what caused it - I wouldn't be happy to go back there again.

Thanks so much to everyone for your kind words and positive thoughts. They must have worked because Sneaky is back home and snuggled on the sofa with his head in my lap. He's wolfed down some turkey mince and is surprisingly quick on three legs!

Oh poor Sneaks, what a horrid thing to happen but it's so good that he is now safely back home - that look on his face tells me that he will expect to be waited on hand and paw, with his every whim and wish granted immediately!!

You must have been distraught when he came out of those bushes with that wound.
