Nigredo... 5 1/2 months

About 40 lbs or so, don't keep track of his weight well anymore. We went for a romp this morning on the local trails.

He does very well off lead and his recall is 100% He's such a smart boy! He's a black Labrador/Great Pyrenees crossed mutt puppy so of course he's smart. Thanks for viewing

Thanks, everyone. We had a wonderful time. It's within walking distance and it's my favorite close place to take the doggies.

I'm going to get Jadey a retractable leash for the next time because she'll be coming along. Once I can trust that Nigredo is big enough not to drown, I'm going to be taking them down to the lake as well.

She gets very bothered when he goes far... so I think it will help. Last time I got one of these it snapped quickly.. so been trying to do a lot of reading on a good one.

You can get flexi leads that are all lead....rather than lead and then the rest string like most of them are.

Some dogs don't like to swim but as far as I know all dogs CAN swim.

When it rains, he jumps up and down in the puddles. I'm worried about him drowning because the lake is deep and I'd not be going in with him.

If there was a beach here, I'd have already taken him as it wouldn't be a drop-off shore.

I'll look into a flexi-lead. I don't like those string ones, I got one for Brownie and it snapped as soon as he put some pressure on it.
