I have posted on another string - I think frozen is better.
Fresh veg in the supermarket or most town greengrocers has been on the road for days.
If you are lucky enough to buy from source- on a farm or at a farmers market - then its a bit different, but gererally, I would go for frozen veg and fruit every time

i would love to be able to grow my own - In Italy where we are from my aunt has a farm and everything (including the meat ) is from her own stock. but the vegetables - tomatoes are huge, peppers masive and so tasty etc etc - Fresh is only good if its not gm modified or abnormally grown, if I had my way I would eat only fresh but it just doesnt taste the same as it should as its all picked too early or grown too aggressively....

so I tend to go for a mixture of both but my ideal woudl be to live in a lovely sunny climate where I could grow my own..

Like some of the others have said, depends how *fresh* it is. Sometimes its travelled half way round the world before it gets on the shelves & treated beforehand to prolong its shelf life, so how fresh is it? And some of the chemicals they`re treated with are systemic & can`t be washed off
I think local organic farm produce is best, if thats not possible then frozen

Frozen is actually fresher

Fresh tastes better I agree but most of the vitamins in fresh are lost pretty quickly..especially as 'fresh' has been sitting around for a little while before you buy it
