Did a bit more.....

STOP HARRODS SELLING LIVESTOCK

It is a shocking fact that Harrods Department store In Knightsbridge , London is selling animals in store.
Puppies , kittens and other small animals can be picked up there on impulse, with as little preparation or thought as buying a packet of crisps. No Home Check, No returns. Where do these animals end up when the realisation sets in that they are not toys but living beings who do not stay cute puppies and kittens, but need daily love and care for up to 10 years or more? Rescues are bulging at the seams and are struggling to cope, XX dogs are destroyed every year because they are unwanted and homeless.
TODAY there are animals are in pens in the store, not an environment where any animal should be. Particularly puppies, whose early socialisation and contact can affect them for the rest of their life. How many of these will end up in rescue or destroyed as unwanted once the novelty wears off.
An animal should NOT be an impulse buy!
Please sign the petition to prevent Harrods selling animals.

Does anyone know where I could find reliable figures for the amount of homeless/destroyed dogs annually? I don't want to get it wrong and give them any excuse to say we haven't got our facts straight on this.

Dear god.

What is it with the human race? We are going backwards, not progressing.

This is great stuff ..... once you get the petition going you could try sending to the various dog magazines to publicise it - they are always hungry for stories, especially if you give them all the background to why you started the campaign.

Am waiting to sign the petition!
