The dog in your video Enzio is now working with Lothian and Borders Police in Scotland he has recently qualified as a non compliant dog and is doing very well,

I was watching him work just last week

The recall was pretty impressive in the Championship 2006 clip wasn't it???!! Wasn't very impressed with the others I'm afraid, and the one I'm supposed to see isn't there I don't think?

im the same no dis respect to the ring sport guys but it doesnt quite work for me either.
some of the disiplines they have to do seem pointless

A general police dog is trained to chase and detain a fleeing suspect if the suspect stands still a police dog will preform a stand off (bark at the suspect) until the handler arrives.
There is times when it may be neccessary to have a dog to take hold of some one who is not moving but refusing to comply with police instructions, say some one with a gun who although isnt pointing it at some one refuses to put it down, A non compliant dog would be used to persuede the suspect to comply . It is newish but seems to work.The dog works as part of a team to minimise the risk to the dog or other officers
