Some do and some don't, We don't really walk on roads as we prefer to have them offlead in open spaces. Some people take one look and disappear back in the direction they just came from and others seem to make a bee line for us. I'm not fussed either way tbh. It was aggravating when they were younger and we were trying hard to socialise them but now I tend to think it's probably a case of their dog has issues or they themselves do.

I don't often see other people when out walking my dogs, as we live in a very rural place, but if I do choose to go to the beach or country park I have definitely seen people getting out of our way ... fast! LOL

Some do, some don't. I do get the occasional girl running away screaming or people picking up their smaller dogs, even though they aren't even on my dogs' radar.

Sometimes I wish more people would avoid me though, as I do get the owners who let their dogs rush up to mine willy nilly. I never let my dogs go up to other dogs uninvited, and I wish the same courtesy was extended to me.

Having had both GSD's & Rotts, you do get used to people avoiding you!!!!

Yes, sometimes people automatically assume that because he's a Rottweiler he must be vicious/a guard dog/human or dog aggressive (or both! ).

I am happy to say not everyone assumes this and the ones who do who take the time and trouble to get to know us better are soon swayed into changing their minds

We used to get people crossing the road, shoving their kids into hedges etc when we had the Dobermann's.. stupid really considering my kids who were little at the time were walking with us and the dogs.
Cant say i've noticed people going out of the way to avoid us with the Boxer, maybe cuz she's white and has a tail they dont recognise what she is

I think the people are thick round here as they do avoid Milo who is little and loves everyone and everything and actually gets very hurt when ignored or avoided, yet Shady can be barking and growling on her hind legs at something and yet women with pushchairs, kids on bikes, and other dogs all seem to want to be as close as possible to her. Either touching her or within an inch or so.
Perhaps I live around a bunch of suicidal people.

Awwww, bless her xxxxxxx

Do you think people who don't know that much about dogs, assume they are American Bulldogs maybe? or something else?
