Interview from Crufts winning owner

Just seen this on another site on a post by Victoria Stillwell

http://pedigreedogsexposed.blogspot.co.uk/

Apparently it gives show people a bad name. Quite a sweeping statement from her.

Edit heres what she said for those who dont have another site

Please read this - 'Far Too Precious to Take Out on Walks.' This is why I have such issues with some people in the dog show world. It's all about them and not about their dogs. Not all breeders/showers are like this I know, but the people that are, give others in the show world a bad name. Makes my blood boil

Think they meant while they were out if the dog had free roam rather than being crated the dog could get on the table and fall off.

I find it very sad that some show dogs don't get to experience a proper life in case they get dirty, tangled or injured

Its a strange life for a dog ..
But they know nothing else from puppyhood i suppose..
Lets hope she keeps up their lifestyle once the dogs have stopped being showed..

That just makes me sad. What a miserable life for a dog.

If this is true I can't understand as a 7 year old bitch is too old for a first mating. Puppies from bitches over 8 aren't even elligible for registering at the Kennel Club.
As for her other remarks I'd have to have heard the conversation verbatim as I know how things can sound so different out of context, but if its all true all I hope is that she now trims her into a puppy cut &l ets her enjoy her life as it looks from the way she moved in the big ring as though she would enjoy a walk, unlike my friends llasa who sits down when she gets to the end of their drive & has to be carried unless they turn round when she marches back into the house.

I watched her on This Morning I think. She said they might see if she wants a litter. Are they going to ask her?!
7 years old and maybe going to be a mother for the first time

All dogs should be allowed to go walks and have fun.

There's something very disturbing and troubling about the article and how this lady's dogs are kept

If the dogs are truly kept as the article suggests, they may as well be stuffed toys for all the stimulation they get. Poor, poor dogs

Poor dogs, hardly get to feel grass under their paws for fear of twigs
That's no life for a dog
