Sleeping arrangements

Moving on from my heat cycle panic sleeping arrangements is my next question.

New pup is crate trained so we will be using D's old crate but where would be the best place to keep it?

At first i thought i would keep her in with me at night (in the crate) but then i'm thinking would it not be better for her to be where all the others are (kitchen) still in the crate but then she can still see whats going on.

Shes not used to cats either so want to keep them safe but seen.

What do you all think?

We put Murphy's crate straight into the kitchen next to Max's bed. He never cried at night, presumably because he had Max there!

I didn't think it was fair to let Murphy sleep in our room (even crated) when Max was never allowed.

Murphy is now out of his crate, and just sleeps on a cushion next to Max.

were having exactly the same issue at the moment!! Im hoping to have little one sleeping happily in her crate next to flowers pen tonight, she has been barking the last couple of nights...!! Im hoping once she is big enought they can both sleep in the kitchen together. I wouldnt have baby upstairs without the others as they will feel left out! xx

That is what has made me re think, Diesel isnt allowed in the bedroom at night so wouldnt really be fair on him and she isnt a baby as such she is 7 months.

I'm thinking better to get her mingling (safely) straight away????

I would maybe crate her in the kitchen first, then D doesn't feel totally invaded (she'll probably turf him off his bed!). Once you're sure they'll get on fne with no scrapping in the night, you could just leave the crate there, but open.

Have to agree with everyone, lovely to see you getting such good advice.Asta started of in her crate at night too,she cried for 10 mins and we ignored it.She soon got the message and fell asleep, she also got up through the night but it was a quick piddle, wee play for half an hour and back to bed.Once she started going straight to bed I removed the crate and left her bed next to the others. They all play musical beds now, ever seen a Rott squeeze into a Cockers bed?:smt044 :smt044 :smt044 Wish you all the best and bet you will be saying in a few mnths ,what was I worried about,
