TTouch for dogs - anyone tried it?

has anyone tried TTouch for dogs?
i recently bought a book on it to see what it was about and tried some of it on indie.
she really likes it and she even falls asleep while im doing it.

its meant to help with all sorts of things including healing, nervousness, aggression, allergies etc.
my local hydrotherapy centre runs courses so i might sign up for one.

Tellington TTouch Training Method

Developed by internationally recognised animal expert Linda Tellington-Jones, Tellington Touch is a specialised approach to the care and training of our companion animals.

It is a series of circular movements of the fingers and hands and non-habitual leading exercises which activate the function of cells in the body – a bit like turning on a light bulb in dark areas.

It is a non-threatening, non-invasive, positive approach to working with our animals. It can help improve and give solutions to common behavioural and physical issues, although it is not an alternative to veterinary medicine, it seeks to compliment it.

TTouch has been shown to:

Improve performance

Increase movement

Restore confidence

Ease pain, fear and tension

Produce alternative, more socially expectable behaviours

Improve physical health and well being

Deepen rapport

Aid in the recovery from injury and surgery

its called

getting in TTouch with your dog - how to influce behaviour, health and performance, by Linda Tellington-Jones

its really good, it shows u all of the ttouch methods and how to do them with pictures. and explains the benefits and shows case histories etc.

id like to do a course tho cos i could learn how to do it properly incase im making mistakes, altho i dont think it matters that much.

i was interested in becoming a practitioner but that costs like £3000
so that went out the window straight away! lol.

this site shows u where courses are, the one near me is £70 for a 6 hour course.

The dog trainer where I work does it on occasion, she regularly did it on Skipper a friends saluki x when he was very ill,we didn't know at the time but he had cancer and the sessions really gave him some comfort through it til he was diagnosed and put to rest.I think its a great thing and would be very interested in learning how to do it properly, mine both enjoy being massaged.

Did a lot of this with my horse and it really worked for calming him down in stressful situations, and I suppose I do sometimes do it with the dogs, especially when playing with their ears, and they seem to calm down! I can highly recommend learning it.
