Phew an interesting walk this evening !

Busy day at work so the last walk of the day was in the dark before our evening meal , first time out in the dark for the dogs this year so torch in hand off we go , they were having a good sniff around, all was quiet , I got distracted by Bella spotting a squirrrel , Tom ears up and off ! Lead flies out my hand and I think Oh No there is a dog up front, I start running to follow him with Bella on tow who is looking interested, I hear him bark , he is known to be reactive, my heart is racing thinking , Oh Tom please dont do anything stupid, he is not wearing his muzzle, literally 2 mins later I am with the other owner of a lovely golden retreiver and see his dog and Tom play bowing and chasing each other round the trees in the torch light , I call Tom and he came back to me on the first call , the other owner calls his dog and they both want to go and play again , you have no idea how much this had made realise that Tom a) recalls even when he is distracted (yes he did run off in the first instance) b) I am reassured that when he does meet another dog like this he wants to play, now maybe if the other dog had been different the outcome could have been completely different, those if you who know me and Tom know I take utmost care with him , but like this evening things happen sometimes , maybe all that shouting when we see other dogs is a want to play but I have never taken the risk , he plays with my friends dogs that range in size from DDB's to Westies with no issues , so maybe we have turned a big corner by chance or maybe we were just lucky, I am sure you guys will have a view , hence the post

ps interesting is spelt wrong in the title !
