Needing a hug...

Really needing a hug...can anyone oblige?

Life really is ****e sometimes, no matter how hard you try you cant make a difference. Its all starting to go Black again.

I have had issues with my mother before, but I cant deal with them any more. I cant be the one who keeps making the effort, and then getting nothing but nastiness back.

Part of me wants to just cut all ties with her, be free of this horribleness, but I cant do that. Alex has a right to see his grandmother (not that she is interested)

thats what my head keeps telling me...but my heart says, she is still my mother, and she is Alex's grandmother. How will he feel in 10 years time, if he never gets the chance to know her (I dont want to have to give the edited highlights " your GM is a bitter, twisted, manipulative bitch" is probs right on!)

I have this debate with myself about my mum regularly but like you I just can't seem to walk away

(((Hugs))). In July when I got a lot of nastiness I took some time out.

I know there may well be another time but I am ready and waiting this time. She is 91 so I feel for the time she has left it doesn't hurt to go back. My children are a lot older 26 and 30 so they make own decisions with no influence from me.

Take a break away and see how you feel in a little while and see if she decides she really needs and wants you around.

I know how you feel, but the best thing I did was cutting all ties with 'mother'. Best thing I ever did.

I definatly agree with taking some time out from it all, not nearly on the same scale but me and my mum were fighting day in and day out over everything for about 2 years before I left and never went back.

We had about 6 months of not seeing each other and then slowly saw more and more of each other - now we're fine! However I know that if one of us hadnt taken a break we would probably no longer be in contact.
