So sorry to hear this. Just because people are not family does not mean that we do not care for them and love them. Your friend sounds like a very special lady. Hugs to you.

Have you been to see Mrs Thomas? How are you feeling, and how is she doing?

I understand that you and her share a great feeling towards her dogs as well as each other? You can give her the strength that she is doing the best thing in rehoming them. Can you not suggest that she keeps one, and that you will re home him when the time comes (with the adoptive parents in mind)

She will be really settled that you care for them as much as you do for her.

My mum suffered with this. I feel for you.
