Dummy Training Today (Clumber)

Went out this morning with Jago to do a bit of dummy training, no, not training me as I may enter him in a few scurries this year.

Not that he has any chance against these professional spaniels nowadays. Used to be fun before it got too serious

Now bearing in mind he is not the most dummy orientated dogs about, he done quite well today.

Time for a rest & what a lucky person I am to have such scenic places to train the dogs

Basically it is a matter of sit & wait, throw the dummy, then command "findit" and on his way out I get on my knees with camera for the return.

Must admit that it does not always work but I don't show those shots

Oh Steve, you always put me to shame with the quality of photos you take

These are stunning - love the contrast between the colour of Jago's coat and the heather...beautiful.

Lovely shots Steve - I saw the Clumbers on Crufts the other day and thought they were lovely. How on earth do you manage to keep his coat clean tho!

He has only had one clip throughout his life and I never bath him or bush him. In fact, he runs a mile if he sees me approaching with anything resembling scissors or a brush

His coat is so silky that even when he gets covered in mud, if I let him naturally dry the mud just drops off of him. within 3 to 4 hours you would never guess that he had been so dirty.
