Baby hedgehog!

A knock on the door just now, and there is a man and his son who live in the village with a box, and in it a dinky baby hedgehog!! His wife was walking their dog, and it was on the path, walking along! By the time Bill went to look it was eating dog poo. He picked it up, and it let out a squeak, he waited for a while but no sign of a parent, no sound either form a parent.

OK, maybe he should have left him (on quick inspection it's a little boy), but he didn't, they knew we took in and cared for Teasel a few weeks ago, so they brought him round.

He weighs 100g, no snuffle sounds, eyes appear clear, so he is in a little cage, with food and water. We will take a better look tomorrow, for now the little chap is having a sleep.

Aaaw, thanks all!! I have got all the stuff the British Hedgehog Preservation Society sent me last time, have had a read and it is common this time of year, for various reasons, for babies to be abandoned. We think he is about 4 weeks old, so will feed and care for accordingly.

Kev just took a photo, not great as we don't want to disturb him. He is about 3 inches long curled up!

Thanks all!

The little guy made it through the night, the boys were stunned to see him, they had no idea he was brought here last night!
