OH says its 98.5% - if it were as high as 99.8%, then chimps and humans would be able to mate and produce fertile young, just like dogs and wolves can do.

Whereas it may be possible for humans and chimps to mate in the physical sense, even though very undesirable to say the least and downright illegal, it would not result in pregnancy and certainly not in fertile young ! I didn't enquire as to how OH knows this, but just hoped it is down to his scientific background !!
