The lifting the front leg Jayne definatly works I use to do it with Harvey as he was not too keen on anyone going over his back end.

It did take quite a while to for it to sink in with him(he's abit thick lol), even now and again now I know when he is about to do something silly in the ring and I tickle him between the front legs and he forgets about being norty.
