Otis is now 5 months (sbt) how long should i be walking him for?
I only walk him on the lead at the moment.

well the rule of the thumb is 5 minutes for every month of age until they are fully grown. So for 5 months that would be 25 mins per walk, but u can do 2 walks of 25 mins if u wanted. Its not a hard and fast rule, but its a good guideline

I thought it was 5 minutes per month of age for the whole day, so at 5 months it would be 25 minutes for the day rather than per walk, so maybe a 10 minute walk and a 15 minute walk. Might be wrong, but I've seen that on other parts of this website and others too.

Archie is 5 months now, and he normally walks onlead for about 10min (on the way to the park) and then offlead(ish) for 20min or so, properly running and playing with other dogs.

If you think about it, 10min of playing with another dog or playing fetch in the garden is much more exercise than 20min lead walking....

Having said that, Archie is normally too tired to walk on the way back from the park
