excessive fluid

7 yr old GSP bitch with large amount of fluid in her abdomen/body cavity - not bloat, its not in her stomach. Source/cause unknown. Exploratory op done - nothing found. eating/passing urine etc all regular. Drinking 2 pts per 24 hrs. Lab results awaited - any ideas please.

our last dog Della had this, she got fluid in her abdomen and lungs etc, she broke her leg and this gave her a dicky heart, she was 13 though. It was her heart that caused the fluid. She was on tablets to reduce the fluid but very wheezy with the fluid. The tablets made her wee more and more frequently.
