I have been fortunate enough over the years to have worked with all different breeds/types of dogs & although I love all dogs, the one breed that has a very special place in my heart is the rottweiler.... why?
they are so handsome, well build, intellegent, willing to please, loyal, loving, I could go on & on.

Hi guys,

i have to agree with what you said about Rotties! We had Rotties before we got our American Bulldogs. Rotties are fantastic dogs, very loving and loyal!

.... and the big secret is that my favourite breed is....... the Border Collie!

Unassailable intelligence, smart appearance, agile, not too big, not too small, comparatively "low maintenance", always alert, minimal drool, easily trained, loyal, protective and not exorbitantly expensive to feed. My first ever "family dog" was a rescued BC, he was absolutely perfect as a dog to grow up with and, despite dalliances with other breeds (family and friend pets), I've never seen any reason to change!

Second choices would be Cocker Spaniels, Samoyeds, or, perhaps, GSDs. I, too, am very fond of all dogs, but the preference has always been for the breeds which are neither too big nor too small: too big, I can't cope with nowadays (and I don't have the room); too small and I'm frightened of stepping on it or falling on it!

IMO, the Border Collie is THE great "all-rounder" of the dog world - the BC can cope with just about anything (except my Snorri, who is a total wimp, and runs from anything that moves!).
