Sick Shih Tzu

I have a 5 y/o Female Shih Tzu that suddenly has stopped eating, has not had a bowel movement in 24 hours, she is drinking and urinating frequently, her back legs are shaking and she is extremely lethargic

I would at least phone the vet but I think an appointment asap would be best.

Hope she recovers

I would get her to the vet asap. Sounds like she is in pain and needs treatment.
Hope she is ok.

Agree with the previous posters - don't take any risks - get an appointment with your vet as soon as you can.
Hope you can find out quickly what is causing the problems and that she will very soon be on the mend.

I agree. To the vet, and ask for full bloodwork and at least an ultrasound.

Not so easy in America as not all pet owners have pet insurance (unlike most UK pet owners) and an ultrasound and full blood work is (VERY) expensive without it.

She's likely asking for advice here because she can't afford a vet or doesn't have access to one. Even still, we can't help her so of course a vet visit is needed.

Cruds, you're right; I wasn't thinking. We've got PDSA too.

But yeah, those symptoms sound pretty worrying, so CanineCrazy, I do hope you can see a vet soon. Good luck!

Not all of us have it here either but it wouldn't stop me going straight to the vet. Often expensive tests are not needed and they diagnose like they used to if they know you are not insured.
