Can anyone help please!

Hi Everyone,
Just wondered if anyone could help with some advice. This afternoon the girls came home from school and found a baby bird on our drive near our big gates - close to the house. Well i touched it to see if it was alive and it fluttered(not very well)down the drive towards the road!! So i picked it up and it started twittering loudly and mum or dad answered so i put it back where it was. I've been on the RSPB website and it said not to worry that i'd touched it but to leave it for 2 hours and then check on it, well i have and he's still there looking completely petrified.
What shall i do??????? I don't want to leave him all night in case a cat get's him.
Any suggestions???
Claire.xx

I remember my hairdresser finding a baby bird in her garden last year and she took it in and fed it with worms and things and she had to get up in the night to feed it but I don't know whether it survived or not.

Try asking on the BBC birds message board they might be able to help you, it BBC.co.uk and then science and nature message boards and then click on the birds section.

Thanks everyone.xx I've took the baby in and tried to feed it some soaked biscuit. I'm just going to leave it in some peace and quiet and check before i go to bed.
Foxy, am just registering at the BBC so hopefully some one can help - thanks.xx
Tomorrow i'll call the local animal sanctury - i've got RSPCA round the corner and a private one not too far away. Will let you know what happens.xx

I have taken wild birds to the local vets and not been charged. You could always give them a ring!?
