Great Pyrenees-This breed has my heart. They are independant, stubborn, shed enough in a day to make a sweater, and like to bark, but they are also loyal, sweet, and protective. Not to mention gorgeous. In my opinion, atleast.

I have never owned any of these breeds, but I have met them before, and I think they are great dogs!
Leonburger
Bermese Mountain Dog
Komondor
Great Dane

As you can tell, I like larger breeds

Saluki I hope I will always have at least one in my life, amazing dogs.

Afghan Hound

Borzoi

Leonberger

Golden Retrienver

It's so hard to choose just five! I'm a big fan of a lot of sighthounds, big fluffies, and gundogs.

I know this thread has been somewhat abandoned, but in the last two years (since my last entry) my list has changed. Not in any particular order, but I have gone for dogs I'd like to have some day, whether it's realistic or not.

Cross breeds: (still) you never quite know what you're getting, but Murphy has shown me that sometimes gambling like that pays off. He's such a great little guy, fantastic temperament. The perfect 1st dog.

CKCS: (still) Loved them as a child, always wanted one. Mia, for example, is friendly, the happiest dog I know and will do anything for you so long as there's food or fuss in it for her. She's very affectionate and is great comedic value

Long haired Dachshunds: (still) They are beautiful, and I have met a good handful of them and every single one of them is calm, a little weary at first but have warmed to me quickly and if we lived here before we got Mia we may even have had one (no stairs).

Field Spaniels: Such a friendly, happy breed. Only met a few but they have that soppy spaniel thing about them. Who can resist that?

You know, I think that's probably my list. Of course I like all dogs generally, but these four are my favourite all rounders.

Any new people want to join in?

Ooh I can do mine again. My top 5 in general are all largish dogs:

1)flatcoat retriever
2)GSD
3)Weimaraner
4)great Dane
5)GSP

But realsitically with asbo not accepting a big dog into the house I need to stay small so my favourite small breeds if you like are:

1)pug
2)bulldog
3)French bulldog
4)smooth coat chihuahua
5)miniature bull terrier
