Riddle: "The missing Dollar"

Three men walk into a hotel and book a room for the night at a cost of $30.* The group of 3 evenly pay for the room and make their way upstairs for a cold beer.
Roughly 1 hour after*the payment had been made the owner realises that he had overcharged the men by $5.*Feeling*guilty as buggery*the owner hands $5 change to the bell boy to be forwarded to the 3 men ASAP.**As the bell boy makes his way to the room he decides to pocket $2 and return only*$3.

Therefore instead of paying $10 each for the room the guys only paid $9 which comes to the sum of $27.* And with the bell boy pocketing $2 that takes the total sum to $29.* What happened to the other $1 ???*



OK lets see who is the first one to work this puzzle out.

well...

The actual charge was 25
but the guys paid 9 each which = 27
so out of the 27 give 25 for the room and 2 to the bell boy! (and if you add the 3 dollars returned that = 5 add that to the 25 then it = 30!)
