Might be getting a puppy!!! Soon!!! ARGH!

ok this has been the oddest couple of weeks ever,
gone from thinking we are moving out next year to finding out we cant, to our landlady now changing her mind after a LONG! chat (& compremises!) with her (long story!) and then its all kinda happened at once, partners workmates girlf works in a vets, they have just rescued a GSD, and this lady has other dogs to rehome as shes snowed under!

so its all kinda weirdly happened at once! we are going to visit her tom & have a chat etc. i know she has another GSD, and collie, and some other dogs, not sur eof the breeds yet, guess ill see when we chat to her, i know one was given to her as the owner is ill and she is a kinda foster lady/rehoming person who works with the vets

this is so weird ive kinda waited and researched for SO long that i now feel sick & worried at the thought of actually getting a dog , ive read all the books...done the research now it will be here if we go ahead with it, ive gone blank and my boyf seems to now know more than me! and is jumping about all excited!

if we decided on a dog what type of things shall i buy, i know crate/food/bowls/collar/lead/toys but my minds blank and im really worrying! ive wanted this for so long!!

Good luck tomorrow.

The basics would be

bowl, food that it already on,collar for tag, lead for getting used to wearing one and a couple of toys. You might also wish to buy some solution for putting down where it wees, stops them re-visiting the same place. We got Fudge in a rush too. Fate played a huge part there. This is all we had and we did fine. Some vet bed for in the crate, one piece for using and one for washing might be good too.
Hope you have a good day tomorrow, look forward to those pics.

Best of luck for tomorrow.

One thing I have always with a new dog is put a piece of your own dirty clothing in his bed with him. I used one of my old sweat or tee shirts.

This not only reinforces the bond you two will have together, but also takes away that new smell of everything that you buy.
