I hate to see dancing dogs, it looks unnatural to me, if dogs were meant to walk on their hind legs then they would do it sponteanously ( it reminds me of dancing bears). Just my two penneth worth...

Dogs DO walk on their hind legs spontaneously! Have you never seen this when they are excited etc?

I don't like too much hind leg work, IMO it isn't comfy for many dogs and it often looks awful.

I'd like to see a 10 sec rule---or similar. However that wouldn't make a difference to demos.

I don't like hard landings from height either and often HTM is done on carpeted floors over concrete.

When I went on a HTM workshop the instructor said only do certain moves if the dog did them naturally. This makes sense to me - you build on natural movements.
My friend`s Westie leaps about on his hind legs a lot - totally unprompted. Daisy never does.

Yep---Champa used to live on his hind legs and have phenomanal jump---Celt could do neither and nor could Rune. Etta will do hind legs but I am not going to train her to walk along---it just isn't worth possible problems.
