Thanks. I'm doing some experimenting with my camera. I'm working on playing around with my aperture and shutter speed.
Heres another...tell me what u think?

By the way Phil, do you have any advice about aperture and shutter speed?

It's suck it and see in my book but.....

I always think the best pictures (portraits) are 'made' from the longest 'possible' shutter speed.

That's just my opinion and with dogs !!!! that depends on how still they are.

As far as the aperture goes (for me that's more to do with landscape or macro) you're getting into 'depth of fucus'

What do you want ?

A dog is fairly small so for pet pics i'd concentrate on the shutter speed.

What is your dog like when you take your pics ?

Skye panics as soon as you point a camera at him so long exposures are out of the question.

Fingal on the other hand is a model so I have the luxery of being able to use slower shutter speeds (which for me is a bonus because it means no flash - (better results)

Having said that if you want outdoor pics with dog and background 'in focus' or dog in focus with background out of focus, then you have to think more about your aperture.

Does that make sense ?

Phil

yes that makes sense. I just pretty much need to practice! I need to experiment with all the aperture speeds and shutter speeds to see what the difference is between all of them. Cause it can be confusing. But since I LOVE photography it should eventually start making sense.

Thanks for your help. If you have any more advice feel free to let me know

what do you think of this picture?

Honesty only
