Rabies jab?

Following on from the fox thread, As we are soon to be moving into a rural area and there are foxes around, will I need to get the dogs their rabies shots - as a precaution? Or should they be alright?

I'm pretty sure we don't have rabies in the UK, otherwise it would probably be a legal requirement for dogs to have the jab (like in America)

The UK is rabies free so you will be ok

you only need the rabies jab if your returning to the uk from a country known to have rabies

Oh please pray to whatever god you like that we never do have Rabies over here.

The consequences would be dreadful, and life with our dogs as we know it would dramatically change.
