At least you understand.

From what you describe, it sounds like it. I'm sure there is a red nosed Pitbull not far from my town either. Never seen it myself but I know people who have.

Out of interest Westie_N where in the UK are you based?
It sounds like somewhere I might want to avoid in future if it has hoards of drug crazed yoofs with scary dogs going around.

then no one can answer your question re breed type, nor give an educated opinion

I have no idea about ratios of body length to head, tail carriage, length of leg etc for Pitbulls/Staffs etc, if I was, would I be on here asking other peoples opinions on what breed it may or may not be?

granted, which is which is why i responded to you as requested the last few posts now, but im not too sure you will chose to focus on this dispassionately, but i can only but try

I have not once said anything derogatory about any breed

i know, i havent made this claim. in fact, i only ever termed things as questions and discussion points, but again, i feel your passion will not allow you to look again. feel blessed you did not make your post on a more deed not breed campaigning forum, you would not have been received with the tolerance I feel you deserve.

its the individual owners I have a problem with
you and me both

Did I say there were hoards? Did I say they had scary dogs? Did I say I was scared of the dogs? No. Again, taken completely out of context in which my post was meant.

But that aside, yes, you're right, you probably don't ever want to visit here! Mind you, we have the same problems as most other places in the UK. Ie. drugs, unemployment etc.

So I'm dying to know now (well not literally - I'll probably survive). Where in the UK are you?

The most dangerous breed round here are Westies, strangely enough. They seem to be the dog of choice for retired people. They are under-exercised, untrained and unsocialised. They are always walked on flexi-leads and rarely neutered.
A recipe for disaster.

Ah the scary west coast.
Strangely whenever I go to Glasgow there is always some drunken Rab C Nesbit alike who wants a long conversation. They are always lovely but it does get tiresome. Especially as it takes me a while to get my ear in.

I was wrong anyway. I was guessing the south of England somewhere.

this thread is getting ridiculous... people taking things so out of context! all she was asking was what type of dog this pup is! she didnt say anything bad about the breed, didnt say anything about reporting it if the pup is a pit (quite the opposite actually, as she has already said she wants to help the dog socialise etc.) and hasnt said anything about scary crazy dogs running around where she lives... totally out of context. she just asked a question, to which im sure she never expected any of this!
