Poundies - 03.12.05

No. 1 = JRT X bitch, approx. 12 months old, she is lovely, very friendly, very playful.
PTS date - Wednesday 7th December.

No. 2 = Billy, Border Terrier X JRT, entire male, 2 years old, good with children, not sure about dogs or cats, fully vaccinated with his booster being due in June 2006, very friendly and bewildered. He is not a stray, he is a sign over due to a break up of a marriage (which is why we know the extra information about him).
He will still be PTS - Saturday 10th December but he does not have to do his 7 days and can go anytime.

No. 3 = GSD male, entire, approx. 4 years old??, very friendly, wants to play...........lovely, lovely, lovely dog.
PTS date - Saturday 10th December.

No. 4 = Tan X Breed male, entire, he has a collar and tag on saying "Stitch" but no number or address  . He is approx. 2 years old, very, very friendly.
PTS date - Saturday 10th December.

No. 5 = Labrador male, entire, approx. 6 months old, very friendly, typical Lab. puppy.
PTS date - Friday 9th December.

If you think that you may be able to help any of these dogs (they need to go into rescue or very experienced foster homes as have not been assessed) then please contact Rochdale Dog Rescue on 07914 936942 (Sue/moundysmate - days only) or 07917 542856 (Coryn/Brunzara - evenings and weekends only).

If you want to become a fosterer, you need to get in contact with a rescue who foster their dogs out.
Usually one close to you is the best idea, so you can be homechecked, and go and meet the dogs.

is it hard to get accepted to foster if you already have a dog?

Not at all!
I don't know any fsteres without dogs!
My friend lesley has 5 of her own, and fosters!

As long as your dogs get on with others, and your garden is secure, and you pass a homecheck, your usually fine!
You don't just get any dog - dogs are matched up to fosterers. Obviously sometimes it doesn't work out though!

How long does it usually take to be accepted as a fosterer? I'd love to help one of these dogs but would it happen in time? Oh and is there an email address to contact the rescue in Rochdale about this? (our phone is being tempermental today )
